International Response Training

The International Response Training is designed to help provide site staff, security personnel, and local law enforcement with the training needed to adequately plan for an integrated response to a critical security incident involving a radiological source.

  • Target Audience - Persons invited to attend this course include: ORS-supported site key staff, site security guards, police officers, offsite response force personnel, radiation safety officers, and alarm station dispatchers. Participants should have duties involving response to a security incident at a facility that involves the possible theft or sabotage of a radioactive source. Seventy-five percent of the participants should be first responders.
  • Course Structure - Using lecture-based and practical hands-on formats with a final tabletop exercise, this course allows students to apply the information they have learned over the 4-day experience.
